India, May 19 -- The Indian squad for the multi-format home series against Afghanistan has been announced, with four young prospects, including Manav Suthar, earning maiden international call-ups. India will host Afghanistan for a one-off Test and three ODIs, starting from June 6. The selection committee has taken up some big calls while picking the Test squad, with KL Rahul replacing Rishabh Pant as the vice captain.

As the Afghanistan fixture is not part of the World Test Championship cycle, Jasprit Bumrah has been rested, making way for youngsters to don the whites for India. Shubman Gill will continue to lead in the red-ball format, while his Gujarat Titans teammate Sai Sudharsan retains his place in the team.
