India, July 31 -- Indian weightlifter Lovepreet Singh produced a brilliant performance to win the silver medal in the men's +110kg category at the Commonwealth Games 2026 in Glasgow. The 28-year-old finished with a combined lift of 388kg, missing out on the gold medal by the narrowest of margins. Lovepreet dominated the competition early, successfully lifting 168kg, 173kg and a Commonwealth Games record 176kg in the snatch, giving him a commanding 10kg lead over New Zealand's David Andrew Liti heading into the clean and jerk.
