India, July 19 -- British Athlete Josh Kerr lit up the London Diamond League 2026, shattering the men's mile world record in style. In front of a massive home crowd, Kerr breached the finishing line in three minutes 42.66 seconds to beat Morocco's Hicham El Guerrouj's mark that had prevailed for 27 years. It was not a fluke performance by the 28-year-old, who earlier revealed his aim of owning the world record, or let's say, manifested it. The dream came true at the home Diamond League amid a buzzing London Stadium packed with 60,000 spectators.
