India, Aug. 5 -- Actress Jiya Shankar has announced that she is engaged. The Bigg Boss OTT 2 contestant shared the happy news on Instagram by posting a series of pictures from her proposal to US-based businessman Kaaran Dhanak.

The intimate proposal took place in a garden overlooking the sea and marked a new chapter in the couple's long-distance relationship. The photos have now gone viral with fans and members of the television industry congratulating the couple.

According to a report by Mid-Day, Kaaran Dhanak is a US-based businessman. But Jiya has largely kept her relationship away from the spotlight and her team had earlier issued a statement requesting privacy regarding her personal life.
