India, June 12 -- George Richmond, the acclaimed British cinematographer behind blockbuster films such as Deadpool & Wolverine, Rocketman and Free Guy, is making headlines after being injured in a paragliding accident in Himachal Pradesh.

The 54-year-old filmmaker was part of a cross-country paragliding journey in the state's mountainous Kullu region when the adventure took a serious turn. Following the accident, Richmond was rescued in a joint operation that involved local authorities and the Indian Air Force. The cinematographer was airlifted for medical treatment.
