India, Aug. 31 -- Kazakhstan's president Kassym Jomart Tokayev, appointed Erlan Karin as the country's vice president this evening. Karin is a longtime aide of Tokayev and will be the inaugural vice president of the Central Asian country, that is a neighbour of Russia.

Who is Erlan Karin?

Erlan Karin is a Kazakh political scientist, public official and security-policy expert who has held a series of senior positions in Kazakhstan's government and presidential administration. He was appointed as the vice president of Kazakhstan by President Kassym Jomart Tokayev.
