India, July 29 -- The central government's bill focused on Vande Mataram garnered much attention in the days leading up to the parliamentary monsoon session. Now the bill has officially crossed the floor of Rajya Sabha.

This afternoon, the central government's bill which centres around the Vande Matarm obtained the green light from the Rajya Sabha.

After the lunch break, the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) formally introduced the bill in the parliament's upper house, amidst a politically charged environment. Opposition charged at Amit Shah amd staged a walkout.
