India, July 25 -- The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast heavy to very heavy rainfall across several states on Saturday as the southwest monsoon remains active. Gujarat is expected to receive the heaviest showers, while Delhi-NCR, Mumbai, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha and parts of Northeast India are also likely to witness rain, thunderstorms and gusty winds.

According to the IMD, the active monsoon conditions are being driven by a low-pressure area over southeast Rajasthan and adjoining Madhya Pradesh. The weather system, along with an active monsoon trough and multiple cyclonic circulations, is expected to keep rainfall activity intense across north, central, western and northeastern India over the next few days.
