India, Sept. 14 -- Alexander Zverev has taken the opening set of the US Open 2026 final, beating Ben Shelton 6-3 on Arthur Ashe Stadium. The top-seeded German made the early move in the final, breaking Shelton's serve to take control of the opening set. Zverev then held his own service games to keep the American under pressure.
