India, Aug. 22 -- Vivienne Jolie, the youngest daughter of Hollywood actors Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, has advanced her formal legal bid to drop her father's surname, completing a mandatory public notification process in her ongoing petition to become known simply as Vivienne Marcheline Jolie.

According to Los Angeles County Superior Court documents obtained and reviewed by legal analysts, the 18-year-old fulfilled California's statutory requirement by publishing a public notice in the Los Angeles Daily Journal.
