India, Sept. 2 -- Uttarakhand School Holiday Today: Heavy rain continues to remain a concern across Uttarakhand as the monsoon remains active in the state. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a heavy to very heavy rainfall warning for September 2, raising concerns about landslides, flash floods, waterlogging and road disruptions.

There is no statewide holiday for all schools in Uttarakhand on September 2, 2026. School closure decisions are being taken at the district level based on local weather conditions and safety concerns.

However, the Almora district administration has announced a holiday for schools and educational institutions on September 2 due to incessant rainfall and possible weather-related hazards.
