India, Aug. 26 -- The Middle East war is putting global oil supplies and shipping routes under renewed pressure, but fresh diplomatic activity around the Strait of Hormuz has given energy markets some relief.

US crude prices extended losses on Wednesday as Iran and Oman resumed talks on managing traffic through the strategic waterway. At the same time, at least 3 Indian oil refiners and one global energy major plan to avoid vessels on Iran's new 45-ship blacklist, citing security concerns.

The Indian Navy is also maintaining its presence along another critical maritime route, monitoring the safe passage of MV Union Mariner and MV Dagher through the Bab-el-Mandeb Strait.
