India, Aug. 13 -- The war in the Middle East in continuosly generating fresh military, diplomatic and maritime developments on Wednesday, with Iran claiming its missile production is running ahead of its launch rate while Washington faced growing scrutiny over the conditions aboard the USS Abraham Lincoln.

At the same time, Tehran stepped up criticism of France and the US, while American forces redirected more Iran-linked commercial ships near the Strait of Hormuz. The regional fallout also widened as an oil spill from the grounded tanker Caroline Bezengi reached Oman's mainland coastline.
