India, Aug. 19 -- A new dispute has emerged between Iran and the United Arab Emirates after Abu Dhabi said its air-defence systems detected two ballistic missiles launched from Iran toward the country. Tehran has rejected the accusation, with Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Bahaei calling it "baseless" and warning that such claims could further damage trust between countries in the region.

The exchange comes as tensions remain high across the Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz, where recent attacks on commercial vessels and disagreements between Iran and the United States have disrupted maritime security.
