India, Aug. 29 -- United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres has called on Washington and Tehran to revive diplomatic efforts to end their six-month-old conflict, warning that the continuing war is causing severe humanitarian and economic damage. UN spokesperson Stephane Dujarric said the organisation believes diplomacy remains the only viable path forward and urged both sides to engage in meaningful negotiations.
