India, Sept. 17 -- US President Donald Trump has indicated that the ongoing war with Iran could be moving towards an end, while claiming that Tehran has directly approached Washington about reaching a deal. Speaking to reporters after arriving in North Carolina on Wednesday, Trump was asked about the current stage of the conflict. "Hopefully we are towards the end of the war," he said.

Trump also claimed that Iran wants to negotiate an agreement with the US. When asked whether the message had come through intermediaries or directly from Tehran, he said Iran had contacted the US itself.
