India, Aug. 2 -- A dangerous heat wave continues to affect most parts of the western United States, with forecasters warning of record-breaking temperatures across Las Vegas (Nevada), Phoenix (Arizona), southeastern California and several other regions. The prolonged heat has prompted widespread weather alerts as officials warn residents to prepare for extreme conditions over the coming days. According to the National Weather Service, the intense heat is being driven by a strong high-pressure system, commonly known as a heat dome, which traps hot air and prevents temperatures from cooling significantly overnight.
