India, May 22 -- The Delhi High Court on Friday granted three days of interim bail to Umar Khalid in the alleged larger conspiracy case linked to the 2020 Delhi riots under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA).

The court allowed Khalid temporary release from June 1 to June 3, considering humanitarian grounds linked to his mother's upcoming surgery and a family religious ceremony following the death of his uncle. However, the court imposed strict conditions during the interim bail period.

A division bench comprising Justice Prathiba M Singh and Justice Madhu Jain heard the matter and said the relief was being granted only due to the specific circumstances of the case and not as a routine order.
