India, July 15 -- Britain is experiencing one of its hottest and driest summers in decades as a prolonged heatwave continues to tighten its grip across much of the country. The UK Met Office said the nation has already recorded 25 days with temperatures above 30degC in 2026, surpassing the long-standing record set during the historic summer of 1976. With little or no rainfall in many areas, rising drought concerns, hosepipe bans affecting millions of households and an increasing wildfire threat.

Officials warn that the prolonged spell of extreme weather could have far-reaching consequences in the weeks ahead.
