U.S. Under Secretary of Defense for Policy Elbridge Colby is scheduled to visit Jakarta on 11-12 August for meetings with Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto, Defence Minister Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin and Foreign Minister Sugiono, even as confidential U.S. State Department correspondence exclusively reviewed by The Sunday Guardian reveals that Washington has rejected Indonesia's proposed changes to the proposed Personnel Protection Agreement (PPA), refused to dilute its core legal demands and insisted that the substantive provisions of its proposal remain unchanged.
