India, Sept. 26 -- Treesa Jolly and Gayatri Gopichand will face Japan's Yuki Fukushima and Mayu Matsumoto for the second time at the Asian Games 2026 when the two pairs meet in the women's doubles Round of 16 on Saturday, September 26 at the Ichinomiya City Municipal Gymnasium.

There is already plenty of history between the two pairs at these Games. Treesa and Gayatri defeated Fukushima and Matsumoto 21-17, 21-16 in the women's team quarterfinal between India and Japan on September 22. It was India's only victory in a 1-3 defeat that ended the women's team campaign.

The rematch therefore gives the Japanese pair a chance to respond, while Treesa and Gayatri will look to repeat their performance and move into the last eight of the individ...
