India, May 12 -- Prime Video has officially announced that The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power Season 3 will premiere on November 11, giving fans their next major return to J.R.R. Tolkien's fantasy universe. But that was not the only surprise. Ahead of Amazon's annual Upfront presentation in New York, the streaming platform also confirmed that the sprawling fantasy drama has already been renewed for a fourth season.

The announcement arrived alongside a striking first look at Charlie Vickers' Sauron wearing a dark crown, a visual that immediately sent Tolkien fans into speculation mode online.
