India, July 29 -- Indian benchmark indices Sensex and Nifty climbed nearly 1% on Wednesday, even as global oil prices surged following fresh tensions in the Middle East. Strong gains in IT stocks, foreign investor buying, a stronger rupee and expectations that the US Federal Reserve will keep interest rates unchanged helped lift market sentiment.
