India, Oct. 21 -- In a concerted security effort, Srinagar Police on Tuesday carried out multiple cordon-and-search operations (CASOs) and surprise frisking drives at key crowded locations throughout the Lal Chowk area and its surroundings. The intensified action comes amid recent threat alerts and is aimed at safeguarding the city's commercial hub.

Police teams set up temporary checkpoints on major roads including Residency Road and Amira Kadal, stopping vehicles randomly and verifying identity documents. Officers also frisked pedestrians and carried out searches of suspicious packages and unattended bags.
