India, Sept. 20 -- The Asaduddin Owaisi-led All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) is exploring the possibility of entering into a pre-poll alliance with regional political parties in Uttar Pradesh ahead of the Assembly elections scheduled for early 2027. Party sources indicate that talks with the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) are progressing, while its outreach to the Samajwadi Party (SP) has not yielded positive results.

Sources within AIMIM told The Sunday Guardian that the party is in talks with regional outfits over a possible seat-sharing arrangement aimed at putting up a joint challenge to the BJPled NDA alliance in Uttar Pradesh.
