India, Oct. 13 -- The Someshwar Cooperative Sugar Factory election results in Maharashtra's Baramati have delivered a setback to the panel led by Yugendra Pawar, a leader associated with the Sharad Pawar faction of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP). According to reports published on October 12, 2026, the panel backed by Sunetra Pawar won all 21 seats, while Yugendra Pawar's panel failed to secure a single seat.

The election attracted considerable attention because it brought rival political groups associated with the Pawar family into competition at an influential cooperative sugar factory. The results have also drawn attention to the political contest between the two NCP factions in Baramati.
