India, Aug. 12 -- Edinburgh is turning its eyes to the evening sky today, Wednesday, August 12, 2026, as the Moon passes across the Sun and covers around 90.7% of the solar disk at the eclipse's peak. The Scottish capital will not experience totality, but the deep partial eclipse will create a striking change in daylight as the Moon hides most of the Sun. The event is part of the August 12 total solar eclipse, whose narrow path of totality crosses Greenland, Iceland, northern Russia, Spain and a small part of Portugal, while much of Europe sees a partial eclipse.
