India, April 1 --  A fresh scientific study has added a new dimension to the centuries-old mystery surrounding the Shroud of Turin. Researchers have discovered traces of human and plant DNA within the fibres of the cloth, suggesting it may have travelled far beyond Europe and possibly passed through the Indian subcontinent.

For decades, historians and scientists have debated the origins of the famous linen cloth, believed by many to be the burial cloth of Jesus Christ. While earlier studies focused on European origins, the latest findings indicate a more complex and global history.
