India, June 29 -- Shraddha Kapoor's upcoming film Eetha has landed in controversy even before its release. While the teaser won praise for Shraddha's striking transformation into legendary Lavani artist Vithabai Narayangaonkar, the film's title has now sparked objections. The Maharashtra unit of the Nationalist Congress Party's (NCP) Film and Cultural Department, along with Vithabai's family, has urged the makers to rename the film, saying a biopic should have its title after the folk icon's real name.
The family has made it clear that they are not opposing the film itself. Their only request is that the title should honour Vithabai Narayangaonkar's identity and legacy.
