India, July 17 -- Britain's domestic intelligence agency, MI5, is facing fresh scrutiny after an independent watchdog found that its officers provided false evidence to courts and exposed major weaknesses in the agency's internal processes. The findings, published on Thursday, prompted UK Home Secretary Shabana Mahmood to announce urgent measures to strengthen oversight of MI5.
