India, Oct. 8 -- Indian stock markets opened lower on Thursday, extending the selling pressure seen in the previous session. The Nifty 50 fell 124.6 points, or 0.55%, to 22,478.45, while the Sensex declined 353 points, or 0.49%, to 72,285.64 by 10:09 am.

The decline follows a weak session on Wednesday, when the Nifty ended 0.76% lower and the Sensex lost 429 points. Investors are now also turning their attention to the upcoming corporate earnings season, with Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) scheduled to announce its second-quarter results on Thursday.
