India, Jan. 8 -- The schools in many states in northern and eastern India are extended to protect the students from the severely cold conditions, along with a high level of fog. Parents and children are advised to be aware of the announcements on the media as there are various rules for different states and districts.

Due to this prolonged wave of cold weather, there have been cases of rescheduling in schools by different governments. Some schools in Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab and Jharkhand have decided to extend their winter breaks. These conditions have made it difficult for children to go to school because of the severe fog and low temperature.
