India, June 17 -- A new BBC Two documentary series Scamanda is bringing back a case that once stunned investigators, donors and online communities across the United States. The four-part series revisits the story of Amanda Riley, a California woman who convinced hundreds of people that she was fighting a terminal cancer diagnosis while in reality she was never ill at all.
The series is based on the popular podcast that originally uncovered the truth behind what turned out to be a long-running and carefully maintained deception.
