India, Aug. 22 -- Customers planning to visit their bank branch on Saturday may need to reschedule their work as August 22 falls on the fourth Saturday of the month. Under the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) holiday rules, bank branches remain closed on the second and fourth Saturdays, in addition to regular Sunday holidays. This means routine branch services such as cash deposits, cheque-related work and demand draft requests will not be available today.

Why Are Banks Closed On August 22?
