India, Oct. 12 -- British comedian and actor Russell Brand has arrived at Southwark Crown Court in London for the start of his trial over allegations of rape and sexual assault involving six women. The trial is expected to last up to 10 weeks, with jury selection scheduled to begin on Monday.

The 51-year-old arrived at court wearing a navy suit and sunglasses, accompanied by his wife, Laura. A large media presence was reported outside the court as proceedings got underway.

According to reports, Brand faces three counts of rape, three counts of sexual assault and one count of indecent assault. The alleged incidents date from 1999 to 2009. Brand has pleaded not guilty to the charges during pre-trial hearings. The allegations remain matter...
