India, April 8 -- The State of Qatar has ordered the immediate closure of all schools nationwide for the remainder of the week, the Ministry of Education and Higher Education announced on Tuesday, April 8, 2026. The decision, described as a "precautionary measure," takes effect from today and will last through the end of the week.

The closure applies to all government and private schools, all educational institutions and universities, and nurseries across the country, according to the ministry's official statement.
