India, Sept. 27 -- PV Sindhu will face a familiar opponent in the Asian Games 2026 women's singles quarterfinals when she takes on China's Chen Yufei on Sunday, September 27 at the Ichinomiya City Municipal Gymnasium, with the two-time Olympic medallist looking to move into the last four and assure a medal.

Sindhu entered the individual event after India's women's team campaign ended in the quarterfinals against Japan. She lost to Akane Yamaguchi in the opening singles match as Japan won the tie 3-1.

In the women's singles event, Sindhu began with a first-round bye before beating Malaysia's Letshanaa Karupathevan. She then defeated Chinese Taipei's Chiu Pin-chian 21-19, 21-14 to reach the Round of 16.
