India, July 5 -- A seven-day ultimatum by former Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi's camp to the Congress high command, an explosive allegation by Balkaur Singh, father of slain Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala, against Punjab Congress president Amarinder Singh Raja Warring, and Chandigarh MP Manish Tewari's cryptic public message after being left out of the party's organisational structure have together intensified speculation that the Punjab Congress is heading towards a major split ahead of the 2027 Assembly elections.
