India, May 13 -- A major political and personal tragedy has struck the Yadav family as Prateek Yadav, son of former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav and husband of BJP leader Apna Yadav, passed away in Lucknow at the age of 38.

Doctors confirmed that Prateek Yadav was brought to Civil Hospital in a critical condition early Wednesday morning and declared dead shortly after arrival.

His death has left the family and political circles in shock, with condolences pouring in from across the state.
