India, Sept. 24 -- Parveen Hooda will begin her Asian Games 2026 boxing campaign when she takes on Tajikistan's Nozimova Malika in the women's 65 kg Round of 16 on September 24 at the Nishio Gymnasium in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan.

The 26-year-old from India enters the competition with previous Asian Games experience, having won a bronze medal at the Hangzhou Asian Games in 2023 in the 57kg category. She has since moved up to 65kg, making this campaign a new challenge for the Indian boxer.

The Indian boxer will face Nozimova in the knockout bout, with the winner advancing to the quarterfinals, which will be held on September 27, followed by the semifinals on September 29 and the final on October 2 if she progresses through each round.
