Jammu, Aug. 16 -- On the eve of the 79th Independence Day, Principal Accountant General (PAG) Jammu & Kashmir, K P Yadav, hoisted the National Flag at his office headquarters in Jammu and delivered a message underscoring the urgent need for environmental accountability in development projects.
Expressing deep anguish over the large-scale destruction caused by the recent Chositi Kishtwar tragedy, Yadav linked such disasters to climate change and unchecked interference with nature. He pointed out that both the Kishtwar and Dharali incidents were stark reminders of environmental degradation in the Union Territory.
