India, July 28 -- Odisha is experiencing heavy rains as several districts continue to face flood-like conditions. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a red alert for July 29 in Sundargarh, Sambalpur, Bargarh and Jharsuguda districts, indicating that heavy rainfall may take place in these areas. Northern Odisha has been among the worst affected regions due to the continuous rains during the last few days. Districts like Jajpur, Bhadrak, Keonjhar, Balasore and Mayurbhanj are seeing problems like water-logging and rise in the rivers. Balasore town has been the most affected area, as it recorded 246.6 mm of rainfall in 24 hours, leading to floods in many low-lying areas.
