India, July 24 -- As questions continue to surround the death of 18-year-old Nolan Wells, Mississippi District Attorney Angel Myers has publicly defended the investigation, rejecting claims that authorities mishandled the case or allowed racial bias to influence their work. Speaking in a video statement released this week, Myers said investigators remain focused on finding the truth through evidence rather than speculation.

Her remarks came days after civil rights attorney Ben Crump, who represents Wells's family, accused investigators of conducting a biased investigation and withholding key information following the teenager's death after a boating trip near Horn Island, Mississippi, on July 4.
