India, Aug. 7 -- The Department of School Education and Literacy under the Ministry of Education has opened the application window for the National Means-cum-Merit Scholarship Scheme (NMMSS) 2026-27. Eligible students can submit fresh as well as renewal applications through the National Scholarship Portal (NSP) until August 31, 2026. Students have been advised to complete the application process well before the deadline to avoid last minute technical issues or delays. The scheme aims to support meritorious students from economically weaker families and reduce school dropout rates at the secondary level.
