India, Nov. 3 -- Nevada will hold its 2026 midterm general election on Tuesday, November 3, but Election Day is not a recognised state or federal public holiday. Most government offices, banks and private businesses are therefore expected to follow their regular Tuesday schedules.

School arrangements, however, vary by district. In Washoe County, students have the day off because schools are being used as voting locations and the district has scheduled a teacher professional development day. This is a local arrangement, not a statewide school holiday. Here is what Nevada residents need to know about government office closures, school schedules and public services on Election Day.
