India, Aug. 28 -- Nepal Flash Flood Latest Live News: The devastating flash floods along the Nepal-China border have killed at least 579 people in Nepal, according to the latest update from Nepal's disaster authority. China has separately confirmed five deaths in Tibet, taking the combined death toll from the disaster to at least 584.

The disaster has also triggered concern in India, particularly in Uttar Pradesh and Bihar, where authorities are closely monitoring rivers flowing downstream from Nepal. Uttarakhand has also been placed on alert amid concerns over the wider Himalayan flood situation.
