India, Oct. 8 -- Veteran actor Nana Patekar, one of Indian cinema's most distinctive performers, died on Thursday, October 8, at the age of 75. The actor passed away in Goa after suffering a cardiac arrest at his residence in Dona Paula.

According to reports, Patekar was found unconscious at his home in the early hours of Thursday. He was taken to Manipal Hospital, where doctors tried to revive him for around 45 minutes. He was declared dead at approximately 5:20 AM.

His death marks the end of a career that stretched across nearly five decades and included some of the most memorable performances in Hindi and Marathi cinema.
