India, Sept. 23 -- A child-friendly model adopted by a special POCSO court in Muzaffarpur, Bihar alongside a system of day-to-day hearings aimed at preventing cases from being delayed by repeated adjournments, is set to be studied by the National Judicial Academy, Bhopal.
The court, presided over by Special Judge Dhirendra Mishra, has introduced a child-friendly approach for dealing with cases involving sexual offences against children. One of the features is what officials describe as the "teddy bear" concept, intended to make children more comfortable while appearing before the court and giving evidence.
