India, May 11 -- Maharashtra heat wave intensifies. The state has notified six suspected heat stroke deaths and more than 236 other heat-related illness cases between March 1 and May 9 this year. The rising temperature is prompting health concerns in different districts. Residents in Mumbai and MMR are struggling with hot and humid weather conditions.

State public health department under the National Programme on Climate Change and Human Health (NPCCHH) has said that districts in Marathwada, Vidarbha and north Maharashtra recorded temperatures above 41 degrees Celsius in the past few weeks.
