India, July 19 -- As the rebuild continues under Xabi Alonso, Chelsea has set a new transfer record, signing highly rated, promising youngster Morgan Rogers from Aston Villa. The London Blues have reportedly shelled out a club record fee of £117 million to complete the deal. Rogers, who is now in the US with the England national football team for the FIFA World Cup 2026 duties, will undergo his medical on Monday. The 23-year-old midfielder has joined Chelsea on a six-year contract. He has made six appearances for Thomas Tuchel's Three Lions at this World Cup and bagged one assist.
